COMC Blog 4

How did you experience the book? Were you engaged immediately, or did it take you a while to "get into it"?

When I read the book it took me a while to get into it, at the beginning it seemed like the typical success and love story. " like a man comes back from a long trip, marries the girl of his childhood and gets a great job" but once jealousy comes into effect and this perfect story turns into the greatest upset. He loses his wealth his love and his friends because of the corruption of the justice system. Once Dantes turns his character into this revengeful and knowledgeable character the story become more interesting. He uses his mystery and wealth to slowly secure his own life into the live of his enemies. This really engaged me into the book, it really intrigued me to see how he was going to seek revenge of his enemies and destroy their entire lives. He uses his mystery to get his enemies to be interested in him, he wants them to research him, find out what he's all about but once they find out there is nothing on him, it creates more mystery and the need for his enemies to become apart of his life allowing him to get into their lives. As you read and see the Counts mystery it makes you want to find out more about him and it makes you apart of the plan to destroy his enemies. It makes you wonder about his techniques and plan to get revenge.
